AAV Optogenetics

Optogenetics combines optical stimulation with genetic engineering to precisely control and study cellular processes. This powerful technique has revolutionized research into neural circuits, cellular activity, and the physiology of both neuronal and non-neuronal systems. Optogenetic actuators, typically microbial opsins, enable the flow of ions into or out of cells when exposed to specific wavelengths of light. Numerous natural microbial opsins have been discovered, and extensive engineering has enhanced their spatiotemporal precision and expanded their absorption spectrum.

Below, you'll find a selection of commonly used AAVs for optogenetics. Please note that this list is not exhaustive. Explore our offerings, and if something catches your eye, don't hesitate to contact us at support@ignisbio.com.
